New Tampa: Great Place For Staying Active

Are you looking for a newer area with communities up to today’s standards? Then homes in New Tampa might be just right for you. Over 15 subdivisions are nestled away from the city noise in green acres next to the beautiful Flatwoods Wilderness Park. Flatwoods is an enormous park with miles of paved and unpaved trails that are great for biking, rollerblading, jogging or walking. It is a blessing to live so close to nature and be able to enjoy outdoors year round! Not willing to make the 10-minute drive to the park? All of the communities in New Tampa feature some combination of swimming pools, trails, fitness rooms, soccer and beach volleyball fields or tennis courts. Specifically, Fort De Soto beach in St. Petersburg and Clearwater Beach got very high reviews. Fort De Soto is a very large wilderness park. The water is quite shallow, but the sand is a very beautiful white. You won’t have to be right next to someone – there is much space to spread out and enjoy peace. You will see more people, music, restaurants and water sports.

The most discriminating shopper will leave satisfied with the line-up of the stores: Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Burberry, Custo Barcelona, Bebe Sport and many others. After a day of shopping, relax and enjoy a dinner at one of the many great restaurants located just outside the mall, on Bay Street. There are many choices to satisfy any taste, from sushi to seafood, upscale Italian, or more casual and very popular Cheesecake Factory among others. Sit outside, enjoy the beautiful weather and watch the people go by. Blue Martini is one of the hot spots where local young professionals get together for Happy Hours. The place features an extensive menu of great-tasting martinis served by attractive ladies.

SPORTS IN TAMPA
The spirit of staying active is supported by professional sports athletes represented by three teams. Buccaneers are an NLF team, and are extremely popular with the locals. The fans went crazy with excitement when Buccaneers won a Superbowl a few years ago. Tampa Bay Rays is a baseball team who made a great accomplishment in 2008 season: they got to the World Series against Philadelphia Phillies. Tampa Bay Lightning is a hockey team that plays at St. Petersburg Times Forum. New York Yankee fans come down to watch their team’s spring training at the Legends Field in Tampa.

FASTEST-GROWING AREAS IN TAMPA BAY
The fastest-growing areas of Tampa real estate are located on the north Hillsborough County (New Tampa), Pasco County (Wesley Chapel, Land O Lakes) and south Hillsborough County (Riverview).Riverview generally offers “more bang for the buck”, while Wesley Chapel or New Tampa have a more “upscale” feel. There is a lot of development going on in Land O Lakes as well, with much room for growth still left. What attracts the new residents? Beautiful weather, beaches, outdoors, affordability and a decent job market.
